We are so very into the World Cup right now! I don’t ever remember being really “into” soccer but all my boys play and there’s just something so fun about everyone on earth watching and cheering their country’s team. We all have picked our favorites and I’m trying not to be overly homeschooly with busting out the globe every match. I’ve been wearing my new favorite shorts a lot and every time I go anywhere in them I get compliments (my youngest son is the biggest fan and pleaded with me to buy him a matching pair in his size). These plus an oversized button-down shirt or striped t-shirt is officially my summer uniform. Unrelated: the deliciousness you see pictured above is a mega vegetarian burrito bowl with black beans, brown rice, sour cream, cheese, peach salsa, guacamole, cilantro and habanero sauce.

You guys, I finished The Correspondent in tears. I can’t stop thinking about that one. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and I’ll be recommending it to everyone I meet this summer.

This week I am reading More than Enough by Anna Quindlen and really loving it so far. I'm also reading The Hobbit because my 12 year old is reading it next year for school and I’ve never read it before! For not being a big fantasy fan, I am finding the book absolutely delightful. I find it totally wild that this is my first real introduction to Tolkien and I’m 41 years old (and an English lit major!).
